About Us
Carl Benn has coached high school and AAU basketball for over 8 years. He was formerly the Head JV coach and Varsity Assistant at Lawrence Woodmere Academy. Coach Benn played under Coach Jeff Weiss at Lawrence Woodmere Academy, where together, they accumulated two state championships and All-Long Island honors. Honing his efficiency and versatility under Coach Weiss, Carl went on to play point guard for four years at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. At UMass, Carl made two Division II Elite 8 appearances and one Sweet 16 title appearance.
Coach Benn has taken his playing and coaching experience and translated it into a program that reaches each player on another level— a success formula that fosters both the psychological and physical growth in every amateur and professional athlete that he coaches and trains. His dedication to the development of his athletes, both amateur and professional, is unparalleled. Carl believes that his coaching and mentorship are his callings.
Jamal “Hero” Benn is a strength and conditioning trainer. He has been in the industry since 2014, training other athletes as well as working on his own fitness. Hero is a 2011 graduate from the Lawrence Woodmere Academy, where he earned the regular season and playoff basketball MVP awards. He also holds the single season scoring record at LWA. He then went on to attend Mercy College.
Hero earned his nickname based on his training philosophy: to save people from unwholesome lifestyles. This nickname serves as a personal reminder that he has a lasting impact on his clients. He caters his workouts to the goals of each athlete and instills the approach of persistence and endurance into each one. He strongly believes that fitness has no limits and encourages his athletes to continually strive for personal success.
We help student-athletes develop their athletic abilities, shape their character, and better prepare them for sports, education, and life at the next level.
